Breaking Membership

Please see below details on how to register with the DanceSport Federation of Ireland (DFI) and the benifits of DFI membership.

The DanceSport Federation of Ireland is a member of the World DanceSport Federation, the sole organisation recognised by the International Olympic Committee to govern Breaking. DFI is a member of the Olympic Federation of Ireland.

Breaking Ireland is an official body within DFI with five committees selected to work in the following areas: Dance Development – Rules – Competitions – Membership – Social media.

 

 

Benefits to DFI membership

  • Breakers throughout Ireland can unite and work under one umbrella, exchanging new training procedures and methods. Creating a shared and equal community. 
  • Breaking Ireland provides information daily on competitions, workshops, training sessions, practice sessions, sports news on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Youtube.
  • Breaking Ireland/DFI is the only Breaking body in Ireland recognised by the Olympic Federation of Ireland, Sport Ireland and World DanceSport Federation. It receives official invitations for Breakers to World, European & Asian Games, Olympic qualifiers and most major international tournaments and games.
  • Members can advertise their dance schools/clubs, classes, lessons, practice session FREE on our social media outlets and website. DFI will officially approve Breaking Ireland schools/clubs.
  • Breaking Ireland/DFI organize paid advertising campaigns to help build the student body in their registered dance schools/clubs.
  • Opportunity to compete in Breaking Ireland ‘ranking competitions’ – to gain points towards representation at world sporting events. Highest ranked Breakers are selected.
  • Registered teachers/club leaders will have the opportunity to apply to organize National ranking competitions and Street Dance/Hip Hop competitions. Only highly qualified international neutral judges will officiate at ranking competitions.
  • Provide training sessions, practices sessions and workshops, in suitable venues, which will be available to our members.
  • Opportunity to work with World Class trainers from around the world. Breaking Ireland/DFI will invite the best in the world to come to Ireland to train our Breakers.
  • An education system, to provide Professional qualifications to our teachers.
  • Judging opportunities for our Professional Breakers.
  • Obtaining a national and international judging license for Breaking competitions.
  • Develop a full-time career with the structure and support system provided by Breaking Ireland/DFI. Take advantage of the newly recognized Olympic Sport – BREAKING !
  • Street Dance and Hip Hop competitions, with world class adjudicators, organized by DFI competition organizers.
  • Teacher Training Programme.  Regular training sessions for student-teachers and teachers.
  • Certified Breaking Ireland teachers will receive more exposure, more teaching and more judging opportunities, nationally and internationally

 

How to register

  1. Register your school/club or teacher’s name with the Registrar Mandyhallahan@gmail.com  – wait for reply.
    Not necessary for individuals over 16’s (with no school/club)
  2. Go to www.dancesportmembership.ie
  3. Go to Sign in/Register
  4. All new members click Register
  5. Register your details
  6. Click your Membership type. Use one of the following 4 types only.
    • Athlete – an individual that competes in dance competitions
    • Trainer – any trainer/teacher, who only teaches
    • Trainer/Athlete – an athlete that competes and teaches 
    • General member – Dance School/Club leader, Breaking Ireland Official, Parent, Supporter.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS
Register your details, then register your child/children.
There is no payment until you register your child/children

 

DANCE SCHOOLS/CLUBS
Each dance school/club must be in the system before you can register anybody. When your school/club is in the system, you will find the school/club name into the box provided.

 

CONFIRMATION
You will receive an email confirmation after you register, give it up to 24 hours for a reply. Always Check your SPAM
